Gladewater Football Player Nikalas Wisinger Dies in Car Accident

Nikalas Wisinger, a Gladewater junior football player, was killed Wednesday morning in a car accident, according to multiple media reports.

KLTV 7 in Tyler reported Wisinger was riding in a car with his older brother, Tristian Wisinger, when their vehicle went off the road, Tristian overcorrected and the car rolled several times.

The accident happened about 8 a.m. Wednesday morning. Nikalas was pronounced dead at the scene while his brother was transported to the hospital and is in stable condition.

Gladewater ISD Superintendent Dr. J.P. Richardson said the school’s athletic activities will continue as scheduled.

“He was a fun-loving, great kid,” Richardson told KLTV. “A wonderful student.”

A memorial fund for Nikalas Wisinger and his family has been set up at Austin Bank in Gladewater.

All of us at ETSN extend our thoughts and prayers to the Wisinger family and the entire Gladewater community. The Bears face Kilgore at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Jack V. Murphy-Bear Stadium in Gladewater.
