GLADEWATER -- The Gladewater Bears flexed their defensive muscles by limiting Chapel Hill to minus-43 yards in a 30-0 rout Friday night at Jack V. Murphy Bear Stadium.

Gladewater (3-0) shut down the Chapel Hill (1-3) running game to the tune of negative-71 yards on 20 rushing attempts.

Darnell McKnight ignited the Bears offensively with 113 yards and a touchdown on 21 carries. Isaiah Davis rushed for two touchdowns, while quarterback Cameron Callaway put up 144 yards of total offense with a touchdown.

Gladewater's Austin Hawley led the Bears' defensive attack with a pair of sacks and an interception.

Each team resumes their season next Friday night. Gladewater travels to Lindale, while Chapel Hill begins District 9-4A Division I action at Henderson.
