Grapeland Earns Big District Win Against Lovelady

LOVELADY -- Grapeland put itself in great position to win its district Friday night.

The Sandies took out Lovely, 26-0 to take sole ownership of first place in District 12-2A Division II.

Josh Ackley scored the first three touchdowns of the game, the first two coming on gains of 75 and 60. He later scored on a 3-yard run from the goal line.

The final Grapeland touchdown was a fumble recovery returned for a touchdown by Cadarian Wiley. Grapeland improved to 7-1 and 4-0 in district with the victory. Lovely dropped to 5-2 and 2-1.

The Sandies have a bye next week while the Lions will look to get back on track against West Hardin at 7 p.m. Friday.
