LONGVIEW -- In one of just a few baseball games to be played in East Texas amid rainy weather this weekend, Greenville topped Longview in District 15-5A play by a score of 5-0 Friday evening.

The fourth inning was a rough one for the Lobos (1-1 in league play). Ahead just 1-0, Greenville put up four runs in the top of the fourth inning.

Luke Dyer took the win for Greenville. He struck out 14 Longview batters and allowed five hits in a complete game shutout.

Will Bradshaw took the loss on the mound, but he only gave up three earned runs in three and two-thirds innings pitched. His defense committed four errors during the course of the game.

Grant Cox held Longview's margin of defeat with two hits against in three and one-third innings of relief work.

Junior left fielder Jordan Wright led the Lobos offensively with a 2-for-3 night at the plate.

Longview will attempt to bounce back Tuesday at home against Marshall. The game will begin at 7 p.m.

Greenville will simultaneously visit Sulphur Springs.
