GLADEWATER -- Haden Bryant had 11 receptions for 219 yards and three touchdowns to lead Bullard past Gladewater, 26-6, Friday night at Jack V. Murphy Bear Stadium.

Colton Mebane completed 19 of 31 attempts for 273 yards and three touchdowns carried the ball five times for 30 yards. Brentavian Henderson had 10 carries for 44 yards and a touchdown.

Gladewater's Derrick Daniels passed for 112 yards and a touchdown, while also rushing 20 times for 147 yards. Nick Johnson had four receptions for 85 yards and the lone touchdown.

Bullard scored the game's first points when Mebane hit Bryant for a 63-yard touchdown. The PAT put Bullard up 7-0 with 16 seconds remaining in the first quarter.

On the ensuing possession, Gladewaters’ Daniels tossed a pass that a Bullard defender had a chance to make a play on, but the ball tipped off his hands and landed in the hands of Johnson for a 59-yard touchdown. Gladewater failed on the two-point conversion and trailed, 7-6, with 11:09 remaining in the half.

After turning Gladewater over on downs deep in Bullard territory, Mebane took over with 55 seconds left and executed the no-huddle to perfection, covering 87 yards in eight plays. The drive was capped by Henderson’s 3-yard plunge, extending Bullard’s lead to 13-6 at the half.

Mebane found his favorite target Bryant on a 5-yard out route to the end zone to give Bullard a 20-6 lead midway through the third quarter.

Gladewater could not score from inside the 5-yard line on consecutive runs and once again turned the ball over on downs. Bryant and Mebane hooked up one more time on a 24-yard touchdown pass with 4:23 left.
