HALLSVILLE -- Clint Lapic's 9-yard touchdown run in overtime sent the Hallsville Bobcats to their first win of the season, a 24-20 defeat of Mount Pleasant on Friday night.

Hallsville (1-4, 1-0 in District 16-5A) sent the game to overtime when Peyton McGarvey threw a 10-yard touchdown pass to Ty Meissner with 32 seconds remaining.

Mount Pleasant (0-5, 0-1) took a 20-17 lead when Sammy Puente drilled a 39-yard field goal on its OT possession.

It took Lapic and Hallsville just four plays to score the game-winner.

Lapic led Hallsville with 86 yards on the ground. Blair Fernandez ran for 71 yards and a touchdown, while McGarvey passed for 118 yards. Chris Kuler had five receptions for 93 yards.

Both teams return to action next Friday night. Hallsville plays at Greenville, while Mount Pleasant plays host to Pine Tree.
