Hallsville 2014 right-handed pitcher and outfielder Connor Reich has committed to TCU, according to a Tweet he sent out Wednesday.

Reich is the third East Texas baseball player in the 2014 class that has committed to a Division I program, joining Whitehouse’s Patrick Mahomes (Texas Tech) and Chapel Hill’s Patrick Day (Houston).

The hard-throwing right-hander went 10-2 on the mound for Hallsville last season with an 0.87 ERA and 143 strikeouts and 33 walks in 88 1/3 innings pitched. He also hit .383 with three homers and 31 RBIs.

Reich was a first-team selection on the Baseball Super Team, the Texas High School Baseball Coaches Association all-state team as well as being named to the Louisville Slugger All-American team.
