BIG SANDY -- For the fifth time in its last six games, Harleton held its opponent to two touchdowns or fewer in Friday night's 17-6 win at Big Sandy in District 9-A Division I action.

Big Sandy, now 6-2 overall and 2-1 in district, is 5-1 in its last six games and has not allowed more than 20 points in any of those games. The only loss in that stretch is 20-17 at home to district leader Carlisle (6-2, 3-0) on Oct. 18.

Harleton has yielded 11.8 points per game during that 5-1 run that takes the Wildcats into Friday's home game against Beckville, which is also 6-2 overall and 2-1 in district.

Harleton's Joseph Earle led a ground attack that totaled 249 yards to dictate the tempo. Earle carried 20 times for 135 yards and a touchdown, while Gage Knox ran five times for 62 yards and a score.

Quarterback Taylor Henson completed 5 of 7 passes for 53 yards. Jed Smith gained 42 yards on seven carries. Marche Zimicki made a field goal and hit both of his extra-point attempts.

The loss dropped Big Sandy to 0-8 overall and 0-3 in district. Big Sandy travels to Carlisle on Friday.
