ALBA -- Harleton didn't gain 200 total yards of offense, but the Wildcats got the best of a defensive struggle in Friday night's 14-12 win at Alba-Golden.

The win pushed Harleton to 2-1 on the season, while Alba-Golden fell to 1-2.

Harleton's Taylor Henson had a solid evening, completing 6 of 9 passes for 111 yards. He also ran for a short touchdowns.

Harleton's Cody Fregia caught two passes for 37 yards, while Jed Smith led the Wildcats with 29 yards on eight carries. Alba-Golden limited Harleton to 88 yards on 22 rushes and held the Wildcats to a total of 199 yards.

But Harleton's defense was equally as impressive. The Wildcats won the first-down battle 9-8 as they smothered Alba-Golden.

Harleton hosts Sabine on Friday, while Alba-Golden visits Celeste.
