Houston Baptist is beginning to make its presence felt in East Texas, and on Thursday afternoon, it offered its third local prospect of the week.

The Huskies offered Harmony 2018 offensive lineman Conner Henson, he announced on Twitter.

HBU, an FCS program and member of the Southland Conference, previously targeted Beckville QB Trey Lindsay and Jacksonville ATH Josh McDowell this week.

Henson (6-3, 243) currently holds five other Division I offers -- two from the FBS ranks in Louisiana-Lafayette and Louisiana-Monroe, and three additional FCS opportunities from Abilene Christian, Central Arkansas, and Stephen F. Austin.

The Harmony lineman was part of a unit that guided Harmony to a 9-3 final record and a trip to the area round of the Class 3A Division II state playoffs in 2016.

Harmony tied for first place in District 8-3A Division II.

Houston Baptist is a program entering its fifth year of competition and fourth year as a member of the Division I ranks. The 2016 season was the program’s best to date and ended with a 4-7 record.

Head coach Vic Shealy is back for the 2017 campaign and owns an overall record of 11-29 as the Huskies’ only head coach.

Henson will first become eligible to sign with any Division I program that offers him in December.
