Henderson senior running back Lynn Freeney has battled through injuries for most of the season, but now that he's healthy, he's paying huge dividends for the Lions.

For the second consecutive week in the playoffs, Freeney rushed for multiple touchdowns in leading his team to victory.

And in last week's 35-14 area-round win over Sealy, Freeney put forth a season-best 220 yards and three touchdowns.

For his efforts, Freeney is the ETSN.fm/Dairy Queen Offensive Player of the Week. He follows last week's winner, Jefferson running back Tybo Williams.

Freeney's two first-quarter scores staked Henderson to a 14-0 lead, and this third touchdown early in the fourth quarter pushed the Lions' advantage back to two scores, 28-14.

His 64-yard run down to the Sealy 5-yard line set up Henderson's final score of the night.

For the season, Freeney has rushed for 763 yards and 11 touchdowns, five of which have come in the playoffs.

Freeney and his Henderson (10-2) teammates face district rival Kilgore (9-3) at 7 p.m. Friday from Pirate Stadium in Longview in a Class 4A Division I, Region III semifinal.
