Brown got a last-minute invite for this weekend from Sam Houston State around 4 p.m. Friday afternoon, per the Henderson staff. The 5-foot-10, 170-pound athlete is headed to Stephen F. Austin State for a visit next weekend. Both schools are Division I FCS programs.

Brown, who holds Division I FBS offers from ULM and New Mexico State, ran 183 times for 1,391 yards and 19 touchdowns, while throwing for 598 yards, three scores, and one interception. He also caught 20 passes for 340 yards and two touchdowns and returned three punts for scores, giving him nine return touchdowns during the last two seasons.

Brown, who was recently named Offensive MVP of District 16-3A, led Henderson to a 9-5 record and an appearance in the Class 3A Division II Region II championship. Brown has accounted for 47 touchdowns six different ways -- rushing, passing, receiving, punt return, kickoff return, fumble return -- during his junior and senior seasons.

Brown is No. 9 on the recently updated ETSN 25 recruiting rankings for the class of 2013.
