The first Division I scholarship offer arrived Thursday for Gilmer 2019 ATH Tra Fluellen.

The Gilmer two-way standout reported via Twitter that Houston Baptist has offered.

Fluellen (6-2, 180) played both receiver and cornerback for the Buckeyes last season. He caught 26 passes for 301 yards and touchdown on offense, and had 51 tackles, three interceptions, six pass break-ups, and two forced fumbles on the defensive side of the ball.

Gilmer finished 10-3 in 2017, reaching the regional semifinals in the Class 4A Division II playoffs.

Houston Baptist is an FCS school that competes in the Southland Conference. The Huskies are coached by Vic Shealey and are coming off a 1-10 season (0-9 in conference) last year.

Fluellen, like all incoming seniors, is first eligible to sign with any program that offers him in December.
