Nacogdoches' Brandon Jones has yet to play one down in his junior football season, but his recruitment continued to heat up Friday when he received his 15th Division I FBS offer.

Jones (6-0, 190) announced on Twitter that he had received an offer Houston, which has had a bevy of activity in East Texas throughout the week. Houston gave Jones his third offer of the week, joining Nebraska and Louisiana Tech, who both offered the talented 2016 Dragons safety on Wednesday.

The Cougars, who got a commitment from Lufkin 2015 receiver Erik McCoy at the beginning of the week, also extended an offer to Tatum 2015 linebacker/safety Kyshaun Smith a couple of days ago.

In all, Houston has offered six East Texans in the 2015 class -- Longview running back and Baylor commit JaMycal Hasty, Kilgore running back Kevrin Justice, Nacogdoches cornerback Jaylon Lane, Lufkin receiver and Cougars commit Terry Mark, Lufkin offensive lineman Erik McCoy and Smith.

Houston went 8-5 overall and 5-3 in conference play in 2013, losing 41-24 to Vanderbilt BBVA Compass Bowl in Birmingham on Jan. 4.

Jones will join forces with Jaylon Lane and his younger brother Corey Lane to create one of the best defensive backfields in all of East Texas this fall. Jaylon Lane, a 2015 cornerback, has an East Texas-leading 33 offers, while Corey Lane picked up his first offer from Louisiana Tech on Wednesday.

As a sophomore, Jones had 95 tackles, five interceptions, a defensive touchdown and two special teams returns for scores in helping Nacogdoches to a 7-4 record and its first playoff berth since 2006.
