A good week for Kayce Medlock continued Tuesday.

Incarnate Word became the ninth Division I school to offer the junior Arp running back and the Offensive Most Valuable Player from Sunday's ETSN.fm + APEC Football Recruiting Combine. Medlock first announced the news through his personal Twitter account late in the evening.

The Cardinals football program has been fairly active within the region recently. John Tyler quarterback Bryson Smith, John Tyler cornerback Javontavius Mosley, Gilmer receiver LaMarcus Morton, Henderson running back La'Kendrick Van Zandt and Texas High quarterback Cade Pearson are other players that have heard from the school within the past seven days.

Medlock (5-10, 186) was outstanding at the combine. He recorded the best laser-timed 40-yard dash -- 4.40 seconds --  and ranked third among all invited players in Keiser squat testing with an output of 3,557 watts.

Arp's running back also put up 10 reps of 225 pounds on the bench press, leapt for a 31-inch vertical jump and a traveled 112 inches in broad jump testing.

Medlock ran for 1,184 yards and 13 touchdowns during his junior year. He helped Arp come back from a 1-5 start to make the regional semifinal round of the Class 3A Division II playoffs.

Arp's season ended with a loss to its district rival, Waskom, which went on to win a second consecutive state championship.

Incarnate Word, located in San Antonio, introduced its football program in 2009 and competed at the Division II level through 2012. In 2013, the Cardinals made the jump to Division I FCS and competed as an independent.

UIW started its membership in the Southland Conference in 2014.

The Cardinals are coached by Larry Keenan and turned in a 6-5 finish last year, their second winning season in existence and their first in the Southland.

Medlock, like all high school football prospects currently in their junior year, will become eligible to sign with any school that offers him in February.
