With National Signing Day almost one week away, Jacksonville receiver Claude Franklin has made his college commitment.

The 6-4, 180-pound senior gave his verbal pledge to Texas A&M-Commerce on Tuesday morning, according to Jacksonville athletic director and head coach Chris Taber.

Franklin had a big 2013 for Jacksonville, catching 44 passes for 691 yards and seven touchdowns.

A&M-Commerce is a Division II school that competes in the Lone Star Conference, which also includes West Texas A&M, Midwestern State, Texas A&M-Kingsville, Tarleton State, Angelo State and Eastern New Mexico.

The Lions finished last season 7-5 overall and 2-4 in conference play.
