The wild ride that's been District 17-5A comes to its dramatic conclusion this Friday night.

The top two teams currently in the standings -- Corsicana and Ennis -- have clinched playoff spots. The remaining two postseason berths will be decided by this week's games between Whitehouse and Lindale, and Jacksonville and Nacogdoches.

The latter of which is the ETSN.fm + Dairy Queen Game of the Week.

While Whitehouse vs. Lindale carries playoff implications with it -- the winner is in, and the loser is out -- Jacksonville vs. Nacogdoches brings in some added intrigue.

Both the Indians and Dragons have to meet certain criteria in order to join Corsicana, Ennis, and the Whitehouse-Lindale winner in the playoffs next week.

For Jacksonville, a simple win over Nacogdoches does the trick. For the Dragons, it's a little more complicated.

In order for Nacogdoches to secure a playoff berth, it needs one of two things to happen: The Dragons must simply defeat Jacksonville, if Lindale were to also beat Whitehouse. However, if Whitehouse is victorious over Lindale, Nacogdoches needs to defeat the Indians by seven points or more to satisfy the district's tie-breaking protocol.

If Nacogdoches were to beat Jacksonville by less than seven points, and Whitehouse defeats Lindale, Jacksonville would reach the playoffs and not Nacogdoches.
