TYLER -- Jasper intercepted three Aubrey passes and used a big second quarter to stay alive in the Class 4A Division II playoffs with a 35-21 win Friday night at CHRISTUS Trinity Mother Frances Rose Stadium.

Jasper (10-2) will face 11-1 Gilmer in the regional round at a date and site to be determined.

Aubrey trailed 21-7 at halftime but came out strong in the second half to tie the game at 2-21 after two touchdown runs by Gatlin Grisso that capped two long drives.

But Jasper blew it open after that, responding to Grisso's second score with an 80-yard kickoff return for a touchdown by DeCorrian Holmes. Holmes scored again on a 17-yard run after Jasper's third interception of the game to ice it.

Holmes finished with 15 carries for 141 yards in the win, while Grisso scored all three of Aubrey's touchdowns and finished with 155 total yards of offense.

Bubba Weathered, who rushed for 95 yards on 15 carries, scored two touchdowns in the first half for Jasper, which went into the break with a 21-7 lead after scoring 21 unanswered in the second quarter.

Aubrey took a 7-0 lead to open the game on a 1-yard run by Grisso, who finished with 84 yards on the ground and 71 through the air.
