Jasper junior Terrell Cuney has already caught the attention of plenty of high-major football programs and will attend at least two junior days next month.

Cuney, who plays center for the Bulldogs, had already planned to attend the Feb. 23 Texas junior day. He told ETSN.fm on Monday that Texas A&M has invited him to the Feb. 16 junior day.

The 6-foot-3, 260-pounder has also received a lot of mail correspondence. LSU, Oklahoma, and Oklahoma State are among the schools who have contacted via letters.

Cuney hopes to get his first offer soon. He said nobody in particular stands out this early in the process.

"I like Texas. That's the school I liked growing up," Cuney said. "But I don't have any favorites."

Two things are important to Cuney as far as what he's looking for in a school.

"Academics. My mama's crazy about academics," said a laughing Cuney, who plans to major in communications or kinesiology. "Football-wise, I just wanna be able to get in there and play. I don't wanna be on the sidelines."

Cuney got a taste of the defensive side of the ball as a junior, but expects to play a lot more at defensive end in 2013. He'll continue to start at center for the Bulldogs, who went 9-3 in 2012, which ended in a second-round loss to eventual state champion Navasota.
