HALLSVILLE – The Tenaha Tigers will once again play for a regional championship.

Jay Lloyd ran for 220 yards and three touchdowns, and Tenaha knocked off previously unbeaten Carlisle, 35-14, in their Class 2A Division I regional semifinal Saturday at Bobcat Stadium.

Tenaha (10-3), last season’s Division II state finalist which finished third in its district this season, is in the state quarterfinals for the eighth consecutive year.

The Tigers will face San Augustine (11-2) at 7 p.m. Friday from Dragon Stadium in Nacogdoches.

Tenaha built a 26-7 lead by halftime, and limited Carlisle (12-1), which averaged 52 points per game, to just a couple of touchdowns by Gerald Turner.
