NEW CHAPEL HILL -- Jayden Hicks threw four touchdowns and Center recovered seven Chapel Hill fumbles in the Roughriders' 40-28 win Friday night in a District of Doom matchup.

Center (2-5, 2-1 in District 9-4A Division I) blew things open in the third quarter and turned a 20-14 lead into a 40-21 lead. Hicks, who threw touchdown passes to Marquis Hall (35 yards) and Jamar Johnson (64 yards) to give Center a 20-7 halftime lead, hit Jaterious Hicks for a 24- and 67-yard touchdowns in the third quarter to put Center up 40-21.

Chapel Hill (3-4, 0-3) had cut Center's lead to 20-14 on Hunter Brenin's 35-yard touchdown run, but Center scored 20 of the game's next 27 points.

Khalan Griffin connected with Demarcus Attaway for a 10-yard touchdown pass to cut Center's lead to 40-28, but the fourth quarter was scoreless.

Chapel Hill's only lead of the game was in the first quarter after Branin opened the scoring with a 4-yard touchdown run.
