HUGHES SPRINGS — The Jefferson Bulldogs erupted in the fourth quarter to pull away from Hughes Springs, and remain undefeated on the season.

Jefferson scored 21 points in the final period to break open a close game, handing Hughes Springs a 42-22 defeat Friday night in District 8-3A Division I action.

The Bulldogs (7-0, 2-0) got a touchdown from Jordan Randle and a defensive score from Kepha Luster as part of the fourth-quarter barrage.

Jefferson hosts Sabine next Friday night, while Hughes Springs (5-2, 0-2) plays at Redwater.
