Jefferson Wins In Dominant Fashion Over Redwater, 62-7

JEFFERSON — Jefferson swept District 7-3A Division I play, and remained unbeaten on the season with a 62-7 rout of Redwater on Friday night.

Jefferson (10-0,-6-0) took a 14-0 lead over Redwater (1-9, 1-5) after one quarter on touchdown runs of 13 and two yards by Dee Black, who also added touchdown jaunts of 64 and 33 yards in the second quarter.

Black finished the night rushing for 106 yards and four touchdowns on five carries.

Trey Hodge completed his first eight passes and finished 8 of 9 for 100 yards and a touchdown.

The Bulldogs will open the playoffs at 7:30 p.m. Thursday against Mineola (6-3) at Pine Tree’s Pirate Stadium in Longview.
