JOAQUIN -- Elkhart senior standout Jeffery Wilson had a huge game on the ground and a game-sealing play on defense in the Elks' 34-28 overtime win at Joaquin on Friday night.

Wilson ran 22 times for 292 yards and four touchdowns to account for all but 53 of Elkhart's 345 total yards.

But Wilson's biggest play of the game may have been his game-sealing interception in overtime that propelled Elkhart to 4-1 on the season. The loss dropped Joaquin to 2-2.

Wilson, who has offers from New Mexico State, North Texas, Texas State, and ULM, enters Elkhart's bye week with 1,000 rushing yards and 13 touchdowns.

Elkhart also got a big performance and game-saving play from senior defensive back Hunter Douglas, who finished with 21 tackles and blocked a field goal to send the game to overtime.

Like Elkhart, Joaquin also has a bye this coming Friday.
