John Tyler quarterback Greg Ward has picked up his fourth Division I FBS offer, according to ETSN.fm contributor Mike Garland.

John Tyler coach Ricklan Holmes confirmed Sunday that SMU has offered Ward, who is committed to Houston. That gives the 5-10, 160-pound senior offers from the Cougars, the Mustangs, Rice, and Memphis.

Ward is No. 9 on the preseason ETSN 25 recruiting countdown. Most schools recruiting Ward consider him a defensive back or receiver at the college level.

Nevertheless, Ward threw for 298 yards and four touchdowns and ran for 92 and another score in John Tyler's 35-21 season-opening win against Lufkin on Friday. He accounted for almost 5,000 yards of total offense as a junior orchestrating the Lions' high-powered offense.
