District champion John Tyler and runner-up Whitehouse earned or shared all six superlatives with the release of the 16-4A all-district football team as voted by the league's coaches.

John Tyler quarterback Greg Ward was named 16-4A Most Valuable Player following a senior season that included more than 4,200 passing yards, 44 touchdown throws, and only five interceptions, plus 861 rushing yards and 13 touchdown runs. Teammate Tyus Bowser, a senior defensive end, was named Defensive MVP after his 24-sack campaign.

Ricklan Holmes, who led John Tyler to a 13-2 record and Class 4A Division I state semifinal appearance, claimed Coach of the Year accolades in his first season as JT's head coach.

Whitehouse's Patrick Mahomes exploded onto the scene in his first season at quarterback, throwing for 3,800-plus yards, 46 touchdowns, and nine interceptions while running for 258 yards and six scores to receive the district's Offensive MVP award. One of Mahomes' top targets, junior Jake Parker, was named Offensive Newcomer of the Year after catching 69 passes for 976 yards and nine touchdowns.
