In a high-scoring game featuring talented offensive skill players all over the field, a defensive end made perhaps the biggest play of the game.

John Tyler senior defensive end sacked and stripped Whitehouse junior quarterback Patrick Mahomes with the game tied 38-38 in the fourth quarter. JT teammate Chris Mobley recovered at the Whitehouse 19-yard line, and JT's DeQuante Woods scored the game-winning touchdown two plays later.

Bowser finished with seven tackles and a jaw-dropping five sacks, and he's the ETSN.fm Dairy Queen Defensive Player of the Week. Bowser, a 6-foot-3, 220-pounder, also caused three holding penalties thanks to his speed and athleticism off the edge rushing the passer.

Bowser has been on a tear during the final three weeks of the regular season. In that span, he's recorded 10 sacks to give him 47 tackles, 15 sacks, four forced fumbles, and two fumble recoveries entering No. 2 John Tyler's Class 4A Division I Region II bi-district playoff vs. Waxahachie at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Garland's Homer B. Johnson Stadium. Bowser's 15 sacks lead East Texas.

Bowser holds offers from Memphis, Missouri, Texas Tech, ULL, West Virginia, and Wyoming. The versatile athlete also serves as JT's backup quarterback and wildcat QB, as well as one of the Lions' top basketball players.
