GLADEWATER -- Josh Roberts ran for four touchdowns to propel Pleasant Grove to a 40-23 win over Gladewater on Friday night, giving the Hawks the second seed in District 7-4A Division II.

Pleasant Grove (4-6, 3-2) and Gladewater (7-2, 3-2) will both play opponents to be determined in the first round of the 4A Division II playoffs next week.

The Hawks held Gladewater's normally explosive running game to just 131 yards while putting up 292 yards of their own on the ground. Roberts finished with 147 yards on 14 carries while Keshawn Jones added 12 carries for 81 yards and a touchdown.

Darnell McKnight led the Bears in rushing with 55 yards on nine carries while Isaiah Davis added 48 yards on nine attempts.

Pleasant Grove jumped out to a 20-0 lead behind a 35-yard touchdown run by Jones and 10- and 11-yard touchdowns by Roberts before Gladewater responded.

Cameron Callaway, who passed for 197 yards and two touchdowns for the Bears, connected with Tyler Gleen for a 15-yard touchdown to make the score 20-6.

Roberts scored his third touchdown of the second quarter from 13 yards out to give the Hawks a 26-6 lead with 1:05 left, but Gladewater was able to get a 35-yard field goal from Fernando Serrano to make the score 26-9 at halftime.

Gladewater was able to get within 10 points early in the second half on a 20-yard pass from Callaway to Daniel Robertson, but Logan Wesley (13 yards) and Roberts (12 yards) scored in the fourth quarter to put the game out of reach.

Terry Floyd returned a blocked punt 20 yards for a touchdown to end the scoring for Gladewater.
