Haynes King and the Longview Lobos are headed to the state championship, and that means more exposure to college coaches.

King will likely see many offers in addition to those he already holds once the season is over. Yet another school has joined the mix, as King received an offer from Kansas, Lobo coach and Hayne's father John King confirmed through text.

King already held offers from Auburn, Missouri, TCU, Baylor and more. The Jayhawks are the 15th FBS school to offer King.

King is among the top five passers in East Texas, throwing for 3,240 yards and 39 touchdowns to only four interceptions. He has quarterbacked the Lobos is a 15-0 season thus far, and they will play for the 6A Division II state championship at 3 p.m. Saturday at AT&T Stadium.

Kansas competes in the Big 12 conference and finished the season 3-9. The Jayhawks hired former LSU and Oklahoma State coach Les Miles during the offseason.

King, like all juniors, is first eligible to sign with any school that offers him beginning in December 2019.
