NEW LONDON -- Alto junior quarterback Keenen Johnson rushed for 299 yards and six touchdowns in the seventh-ranked Yellowjackets' 65-29 rout of Ore City in their Class 2A Division I Region III area-round playoff Friday night at Bruce Bradshaw Stadium.

Alto (10-0) advanced to the regional semifinals where it will face Union Grove (10-0) next week. Ore City, which won its first playoff game in 20 years last week, ended its season at 9-2.

Johnson carried the ball 23 times and scored on runs of 47, 2, 78, 4, 2 and 38 yards. He also completed 4 of 7 passes for 34 yards with an interception.

Jyran Shaw added 142 yards and two touchdowns on 18 carries for Alto, which rushed for 469 yards on the night.

Willie Skinner had a 10-yard interception return, while JaVie'Ontae Mumphrey recorded a sack for a safety in Alto's dominating win.

Demontrae Neal led Ore City by rushing 18 times for 119 yards, scoring on runs of 12 and 66 yards. Colton Allshouse added a 34-yard touchdown run, and Cartea Douglass fired a 4-yard score to Nick Hughes in the Rebels' losing effort.
