Kilgore senior linebacker A.J. Davis will visit Stephen F. Austin State on Jan. 26, according to the Kilgore coaching staff.

Davis has also received recent interest from Sam Houston State, another Southland Conference school. SFA and Sam Houston State, which are arch rivals, are NCAA Division I FCS programs.

Davis, who could receive an offer on his SFA visit, concluded a stellar high school football career with a big senior season, as expected. The 6-foot, 220-pound middle linebacker accumulated 154 tackles, 12 for loss, two sacks, one interception, and two forced fumbles.

In three seasons as Kilgore's starter in the middle, Davis racked up 457 tackles, including 40 for loss and six sacks. During the past two seasons, Davis also had three interceptions, eight pass breakups.

As a junior, Davis had 179 tackles, 13 for loss, one sack, two interceptions, three fumble recoveries, five pass breakups, three kick blocks, and one punt block. In his breakout sophomore season, he had 124 tackles, 15 for loss, and three sacks.
