Kilgore senior McKalyn Pinter has signed to play softball at Northeast Texas Community College in Mount Pleasant.

Pinter earned second-team outfield honors on the 16-3A all-district team this past spring. She also participated in volleyball and track.

"As a child, I was diagnosed with absent seizures and a thyroid problem but I’ve overcome the odds and will graduate as a 2013 Texas Scholar in June," said Pinter.

Pinter, who was academic all-district in both volleyball and softball, already knows what she wants to study.

"I’m excited to call Northeast Texas Community College my school and my team," she said. "My intended major is Criminal Justice -- Police Science. My goal is to play the sport I love while obtaining an education and degree."
