CROCKETT -- Lakendrick VanZandt rushed for three touchdowns, and No. 10 Henderson used to a hot start to coast past Little Cypress-Mauriceville, 48-12, in their Class 4A Division I, Region III bi-district playoff Friday night at Monte Jack Driskell Stadium.

The Lions (10-1) meet eighth-ranked El Campo (11-0) in the area round. The kickoff is tentatively scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Friday from Humble's Turner Stadium.

VanZandt scored on runs of 3, and 13 yards helping Henderson to a 28-6 lead after just one quarter of play. His 63-yard scoring run in the second quarter propelled the Lions to a 38-6 halftime advantage.

Trae Hall connected with Trestan Ebner for a 49-yard touchdown pass and scored on a 6-yard run during Henderson's opening-quarter onslaught.

Lynn Freeney added a touchdown run in the second half for the Lions.
