NEW BRAUNFELS -- For the third time this season, District 25-A Division II rivals Laneville and Oakwood met on the basketball court. Only this time, a state tournament berth was on the line.

Laneville won the rubber match, taking a 77-69 victory in the 1A Division II Region IV championship game Saturday at Comal Canyon High School in New Braunfels.

The Yellow Jackets (32-6) will face an undetermined opponent at either 1:30 or 7 p.m. Friday from the University of Texas' Frank Erwin Center in a 1A D-II state semifinal.

Donta Harris led Laneville on Saturday with 24 points, to go with eight rebounds and five steals. Kendrick Anderson added 22 points, 10 boards, five and three steals, Tiarel Franklin had 13 points and four assists, Ty Johnson had 10 points, 14 rebounds and four steals, and Tra Alexander finished with eight points, four assists and three steals.

Damiyne Durham, a Baylor signee, led Oakwood (26-5) with 33 points. Jacquez Anderson added 20 points in the losing effort.
