PITTSBURG -- With the area round of the playoffs within reach for White Oak, Redwater was there to ruin the party Thursday night.

Nick Anderson hit T.J. Braley for a 65-yard touchdown on fourth-and-1 to give Redwater a heart-stopping 21-18 win over White Oak in their Class 3A Division I bi-district matchup at Pirate Stadium.

White Oak, which reached the state semifinals a year ago, will exit after the first round and end its season with a 7-4 record. Redwater (6-5) will face the Pottsboro-Caddo Mills winner in the area round. Those two teams play at 7:30 p.m. Friday (Nov. 14) in Bonham.

Cordelle Smith gave White Oak an 18-14 lead on a 6-yard touchdown run with 53 seconds left in the game after the Roughnecks capitalized on a Redwater fumble.

But Redwater responded in a big way. Braley's touchdown came with just 14 seconds on the clock, and White Oak's last-ditch attempt for a miracle fell short.

White Oak rallied to take the lead after being down 14-3 in the third quarter. Jack Rogers connected for his second field goal of the night to cut the deficit to 14-6. Cordelle Smith hit Swade Smith for a touchdown to make it 14-12 in the fourth before scoring the go-ahead touchdown to make it 18-14.
