The Whitehouse Wildcats captured four superlatives on the 16-4A all-district football team, which was released earlier this week.

Senior quarterback Patrick Mahomes as voted District MVP by the league's coaches after leading the Wildcats to an undefeated district championship. Senior linebacker Reggie Long was named Defensive MVP, sophomore running back Shemar Smith earned Offensive Newcomer of the Year honors and the Whitehouse coaches were honored as the district's Coaching Staff of the Year.

John Tyler junior quarterback Geovari McCollister was selected as the Offensive MVP, while sophomore teammate Braylon Jones shared Defensive Newcomer of the Year honors with Corsicana freshman Kishawn Kelley.

Nacogdoches, which finished third in the district standings, led the way with 12 first-team selections. District champion Whitehouse had nine, Corsicana had six, league runner-up John Tyler had three and Jacksonville and Lindale had two first-team members apiece.
