TEXARKANA -- The Liberty-Eylau Leopards cruised to their seventh consecutive win with a 48-7 defeat of Quinlan Ford on Thursday night,

Liberty-Eylau (7-1, 3-0 in District 7-4A Division I) put the pressure on Princeton (6-1, 2-0), which will try to keep pace with a win over Paris North Lamar (5-2, 1-1), in the chase for the league championship.

L-E and Princeton square off Nov. 6, the final night of the regular season.

The Leopards wasted little time jumping on Ford with quarterback Ke'Mon Freeman's 16-yard touchdown run, and scoring passes covering 53 and 10 yards to Thurman Morbley in L-E's 21-point first quarter.

Liberty-Eylau mounted a 28-0 halftime lead, and scored three touchdowns in the third quarter before the Panthers got on the board on the final play of the period.

Freeman ht on 11 of 18 attempts for 214 yards and three touchdowns, and added a team-best 87 rushing yards. Morbley finished with four catches for 113 yards.

L-E returns to action next Friday night at North Lamar.
