The busy week continued for Liberty-Eylau's LaGaryonn Carson, who picked up his third and fourth Division I FBS offers in just the last three days.

The Liberty-Eylau staff confirmed to ETSN.fm that Carson (6-5, 255), a 2017 defensive end, received offers from Tennessee and Texas A&M on Friday. That came on the heels of him getting scholarship opportunities from Texas and Alabama on Wednesday.

Carson, the younger cousin of former Liberty-Eylau and Texas A&M running back Tra Carson, leads East Texas' 2017 recruiting class with four offers.

Tennessee, which is coached by Butch Jones, competes in the SEC. The Volunteers finished the 2014 season 7-6 overall and 3-5 in conference play, ending the year with a 45-28 win over Iowa in the Taxslayer Bowl.

Texas A&M also competes in the SEC and will enter its fourth season under head coach Kevin Sumlin.

The Aggies have adapted well into the nation's premier conference. In its first three seasons in the SEC, Texas A&M has compiled a record of 28-11. A&M was 8-5 and 3-5 a season ago, ending with a 45-37 defeat of West Virginia in the Liberty Bowl.

A&M has been extremely active in East Texas recently, having signed five area natives last February -- Gladewater defensive tackle Daylon Mack, Sulphur Springs defensive back Larry Pryor, Whitehouse defensive back Justin Dunning, Lufkin offensive lineman Erik McCoy, and Newton defensive back Roney Elam.

Liberty-Eylau appears poised for a solid 2015 season, especially on the defensive side of the ball.

Carson is the second player on the current Leopards’ roster with college football interest. Rising senior linebacker Andre Wiley Jr. is committed to Arkansas State.

Liberty-Eylau fell a field goal shy of eliminating Argyle in the Class 4A Division I, Region II championship game. Argyle went on to the state championship game and lost in double overtime to Navasota.

Carson and Wiley will be in Tyler on Sunday to attend the 2015 ETSN.fm + APEC Football Recruiting Combine. The invitation-only event, presented by Azalea Orthopedics, has more than 100 confirmed participants from the East Texas area.

The Leopards will kick off the season season Aug. 27 against Gilmer.
