The long wait is over for Cameron Sir Louis.

Not only did the senior Lindale tight end receive his first Division I offer Sunday, he got his invitation from an FBS program. Air Force did the honor and joins Division II program Southwestern Oklahoma State in the recruiting battle.

Sir Louis (6-4, 230), a three-year starter with five touchdowns his senior year, announced the news through his personal Twitter account. He's the third player from Lindale's 2017 class to have an opportunity at the Division I level, following uncommitted defensive tackle Terrell Cooper and Prairie View A&M linebacker commitment Kale Ridge.

Air Force hopes the tight end will become at least its fourth senior signee from East Texas. Athens linebacker Noah Bush, Hooks athlete Jordan Johnson and Tatum defensive end D'Torian Smith have already pledged to the Falcons program.

Three other local senior prospects possess Air Force offers, but they committed elsewhere.

The Falcons program has enjoyed the second-best 10-year stretch among the United States' three major Armed Services schools. It has been to nine bowl games and won a fourth Commander-in-Chief's Trophy in the span this past season with victories against Army and Navy as part of a 9-3 regular season record.

Air Force closed its 2016 campaign with a win against South Alabama in the Arizona Bowl.

Sir Louis, like all college football prospects currently in their senior year of high school, will become eligible to sign with any program that offers him Feb. 1.
