LONGVIEW -- The Longview Lobos scored a pair of runs in the bottom of the eighth inning to defeat Whitehouse, 4-3, Saturday afternoon at Lobo Field.

Dez Chumley and Judson Murray scored off two Whitehouse errors in the eighth to secure the victory. The Wildcats committed four errors on the afternoon.

Tre Allen was 1-for-4 with two RBIs to lead the Lobos (11-6), while Sam Scarborough went 3-for-4 with an RBI. Murray had the other RBI for Longview.

Whitehouse (13-6) was led at the plate by Patrick Mahomes, who went 3-for-3 with two runs scored. Aaron Clemons was 2-for-3 with an RBI, Michael Nuon went 2-for-4 with a run scored and Derek Clemons added an RBI in the losing effort.

Jared Pauley got the win in relief for Longview. He allowed one run on five hits and walked one in 3 2/3 innings. Starter Ben Woolley allowed two runs on four hits in 4 1/3 innings. He struck out two and walked two.

Peyton Conser went the distance on the mound for Whitehouse, allowing four runs (two earned) on seven hits with seven strikeouts and two walks in 7 2/3 innings.

Longview continues its season Tuesday at District 12-5A rival Tyler Lee, while Whitehouse plays host to Nacogdoches in 16-4A action on Tuesday.
