It's been quite the day for Longview 2014 defensive tackle Zaycoven Henderson. It began with a decommitment from Texas, followed by a re-affirmation to new Longhorns coach Charlie Strong.

Then came a bombshell. Henderson announced on his personal Twitter account his commitment to coach Kevin Sumlin and Texas A&M on Wednesday night.

Henderson (6-1, 300) joins Lufkin wide receiver Jamal Jeffery and Gilmer linebacker Josh Walker as 2014 East Texas commitments to the Aggies. East Texas has two players in the 2015 class that have already offered verbal pledges to Texas A&M -- Gladewater defensive tackle Daylon Mack and Whitehouse safety Justin Dunning.

Former Texas defensive tackles coach Bo Davis left take a job as USC's defensive line coach earlier this week.

Henderson originally committed to Texas at a ceremony at Longview High School on Dec. 9 after narrowing his top three to the Longhorns, Baylor and Texas Tech. That came after he withdrew his pledge to TCU after committing to the Frogs in early 2013.

Efforts to reach Henderson for comment were unsuccessful.

Henderson also holds offers from Baylor, Florida, Iowa State, Kansas, Kansas State, Missouri, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Ole Miss, Oregon, SMU, South Carolina, TCU, Texas Texas Tech, Washington and Washington State.

Over the weekend, Henderson competed in the Semper Fidelis All-American Bowl in Carson, Calif., and received a received a leadership award for the event during a banquet two days before.

Henderson missed the first five games of his senior season because of a foot fracture, but came on strong to finish with 36 tackles, 13 for loss, two sacks, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery and one defensive touchdown. As a junior, Henderson had 48 tackles, 10 for loss and two sacks.
