The Missouri Tigers have been active on the recruiting trail in East Texas in recent days, sending offers out to East Texans in the 2020 class. And that continued Tuesday.

Longview quarterback Haynes King (6-3, 180) was offered by Missouri, according to Lobos head coach John King.

Mizzou is the second Power 5 school in as many days to offer Haynes King, who was offered by TCU on Monday. He now has three offers the SEC as Missouri joined Arkansas and Auburn.

Haynes King also holds offers from Houston, Louisiana Tech, Louisiana-Monroe, Memphis, North Texas, Southern Miss, Texas State, and Tulsa. FCS program Stephen F. Austin has also offered.

The Lobos' quarterback is re-writing the record books at Longview in 2018. In last Saturday's 63-17 playoff win over Prosper, he eclipsed the school mark for single-season touchdown passes.

He has thrown for 2,811 yards with 35 touchdowns and only one interception, and added 315 rushing yards and five touchdowns this season.

Haynes King and Longview (12-0) will face Austin Vandegrift (12-0) in a Class 6A Division II, Region II semifinal at 6 p.m. Saturday from Baylor University's McLane Stadium in Waco.

Missouri, which is coached by Barry Odom, is 8-4 overall and was 4-4 in SEC play in 2018.

The Tigers offered Lufkin S Jerrin Thompson and Diboll RB/LB Herbert Gums on Monday.

Haynes King, like all juniors, is first eligible to sign with any program that offers him in December of 2019.
