Longview junior defensive tackle Zaycoven Henderson will be a hot commodity among East Texas' 2014 recruiting class, and that process has already started.

Henderson told ETSN.fm late Thursday night that SMU has invited him to a Feb. 16 junior day event. Henderson also said he has been invited to Next Level Athlete's Texas Top 100 camp featuring some of the top juniors in the state Sunday in Pasadena and Jan. 27 in Lancaster.

Henderson joins Carthage quarterback Blake Bogenschutz, Kilgore athlete Aaron Foy, and Newton running back/safety Kevin Shorter as 2014 East Texas prospects invited to the Texas Top 100 camps.

Henderson had a solid junior season for the Lobos, who finished 9-4 with a Class 5A Division II Region II semifinal appearance. The 6-foot-2, 290-pounder played both sides of the line, but got stronger as the season progressed at defensive tackle, where he accumulated 48 tackles, 10 for loss, two sacks, one forced fumble, and two recoveries.

The quartet of Texas Top 100 camp invitees are part of a 2014 football class that could be a very strong group for East Texas. Bogenschutz has received interest from TCU, SMU, and Texas Tech, per Carthage coach Scott Surratt.Shorter has garnered interest from TCU, SMU, Oklahoma, and Texas A&M, according to Newton coach W.T. Johnston.
