Longview senior defensive tackle Zaycoven Henderson has been chosen to play in the U.S. Marines Semper Fidelis All-American Bowl in January, according to Lobo coach John King.

The 6-foot-1, 293-pound Henderson holds about 20 college offers from numerous major conferences. To King's knowledge, Henderson is the first Longview player selected for participation in a national all-star game.

The Semper Fidelis All-American Bowl is 8 p.m. CST Jan. 5 at the Home Depot Center in Carson, Calif. Fox Sports 1 will broadcast the game.

Longview's 69-17 home blowout of Mesquite on Sept. 27 marked Henderson's first game back after missing the Lobos' first four games of the year with a foot fracture. Henderson, who decommitted from TCU in August to re-open his recruitment, recovered a fumble in the 52-point victory.

As a junior, Henderson emerged as a front-line anchor for the Lobos, finishing with 48 tackles, 10 for loss, and two sacks. His recruitment caught fire during the winter after multiple strong camp performances.

Henderson and the Lobos (4-1, 1-0) travel to Rockwall-Heath for a 7:30 p.m. Friday contest.
