Lufkin Hudson’s Kelsee Selman + Huntington’s Erica Wright Share MVP Honors on 20-3A All-District Softball Team

Two of East Texas' top players shared Most Valuable Player honors with the release of the 20-3A all-district softball team as voted by the league's coaches.

Lufkin Hudson's Kelsee Selman and Huntington's Erica Wright were named co-MVPs of District 20-3A.

Selman, an LSU signee, went 35-5 in the circle with a 0.89 ERA, 489 strikeouts, and 34 walks in 267 2/3 innings. At the plate, she hit .394 with 12 home runs, 49 RBIs, 10 doubles, and 34 runs scored for the Lady Hornets, who won their second consecutive Class 3A state championship.

Wright, who is committed to Texas and has another year at Huntington, went 14-5 with a 0.96 ERA, 278 strikeouts, and 44 walks in 124 innings. She hit .589 with 13 RBIs.

Pollok Central's Anna Goddard, who led her team to the District 20-3A championship, was named Coach of the Year. Carthage's Kacey Maines was tabbed as Newcomer of the Year.
