Lufkin senior defensive back Jeremiah Davis made his college decision on Tuesday.

The Panthers' defender announced via Twitter that he has committed to Stephen F. Austin.

Davis (6-0, 180) chose SFA over other offers from Louisiana-Lafayette and Midwestern State.

The Panthers' standout played an integral role in Lufkin's best season since 2005. Davis finished the year with 80 tackles (three for loss), four forced fumbles, and two interceptions in leading Lufkin to an 11-3 record and a berth in the Class 6A Division II, Region II finals.

SFA is a member of the Southland Conference and is coached by Clint Conque. The Lumberjacks finished 2017 with an overall record of 4-7 (4-5 in conference play).

Davis, like all seniors, can sign with any Division I program that offers him on Feb. 7.
