It was quite the 2018 debut for Marshall junior quarterback JJ Green, who led his team to an impressive Week 1 victory over Tyler Lee last Friday.

Green accounted for all six touchdowns in the Mavs' 42-29 road win, earning him ETSN.fm/Dairy Queen Offensive Player of the Week honors.

The Marshall signal-caller hit on 15 of 23 attempts for 318 yards and five touchdowns. He also ran for 39 yards, including a 25-yard scoring run.

Green (6-4, 170), a dual-threat QB in the 2020 recruiting class who holds offers from Nebraska, Ole Miss, and Texas State, tossed touchdown passes of 27, 28, 31, 45, and 27 yards.

He involved all three of his Division I recruits at receiver. Tahj Washington caught eight passes for 163 yards and one score, while De'Kendrick Bender and Savion Williams had two touchdown receptions apiece.

Green and his Marshall (1-0) teammates take on rival Longview (1-0) in the Mavs' home opener Friday night at 7:30 p.m.
