MARTIN'S MILL -- The Mustangs, fresh off learning they retained the No. 3 spot in the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches' weekly Class 2A poll, hung on for a 48-44 win against Wills Point in non-district action Monday.

Logan Jenkins, Hunter Conway and Davis Moore led the way for Martin's Mill. Each player reached double digits on the scoresheet.

Jenkins finished the game with a team-best 15 points. Conway and Moore scored 10 points each.

Jon Golden gave the Mustangs (18-4) a run for their money with a game-best 17 points while Hunter Stanford chipped in 10 for Wills Point, but Martin's Mill's defense held the remainder of the roster to an affordable 17 points.

Dylan Weatherford and Drew Ingram rounded out Mustangs scorers with nine and four points, respectively.

Most East Texas basketball teams, both boys and girls, will be active Tuesday.
