Martin’s Mill Opens Great East Texas Shootout With Win + Bullard Goes 1-1

BROWNSBORO -- The Martin's Mill Lady Mustangs began the annual Great East Texas Shootout with a 55-40 win over Palestine on Thursday.

Cheyenne Brown led the way for Martin's Mill with 29 points.

Martin's Mill (7-3) will face Alba-Golden at 4:15 p.m. Friday at the high school gym as the tournament continues.

The Bullard Lady Panthers went 1-1 on Thursday in Brownsboro, defeating Lindale, 58-14, and losing to Peaster, 48-38.

Maddy Slayter had 15 points and Lexi Kirgan added 10 in Bullard's rout of Lindale, while Kirgan poured in 25 points in the Lady Panthers' losing effort against Peaster.

Bullard (12-3) continues play in Brownsboro at 9:30 a.m. Friday against Fairfield in the intermediate school's gym.
