The most coveted offensive player in the region picked up yet another Division I FBS scholarship offer on Wednesday.

Carthage 2018 running back Keaontay Ingram tweeted news of a Memphis offer, giving him 23 total with more than two months remaining in his junior school year.

Ingram (6-0, 198), who is rated the No. 1 running back in Texas in the 2018 class by Scout.com, holds offers from some of the best programs in the country, including LSU, Michigan, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Oregon, TCU, Texas, Texas A&M, and UCLA.

The Bulldogs running back is the first local player in the current recruiting cycle to pick up an offer from Memphis.

In 2016, Ingram closed the season with the Offensive MVP award in Carthage’s 31-17 win against Abilene Wylie for the title. He scored on the ground twice in the title match, including the tying touchdown that brought the Dawgs back from a 14-0 deficit.

Ingram eclipsed 2,200 rushing yards in 15 games, scored 31 times on the ground and caught 46 passes for a little more than 400 yards.

Memphis competes in the American Athletic Conference, along with in-state programs Houston and SMU. The Tigers finished 2016 with an 8-5 record under first-year head coach Mike Norvell.

Like all college football prospects currently in their junior year of high school, Ingram will become eligible to sign with any school that offers him in February of 2018.
